2010 Business Convention and Expo of the Deaf – Leading Us To A Better Future!
Welcome to the Business Convention and Expo of the Deaf (BCED)!
This premier event will be held Thursday, May 27 through Sunday, May 30, 2010 in Houston, TX – a city known globally for its leadership in commerce and entrepreneurship.
Our primary goal is to get us all thinking and working together so that we can chart a course for better future in small business and entrepreneurship. A recent survey conducted jointly by Zogby International and WeMedia indicates the majority of Americans believe that entrepreneurs and small businesses will lead us to a better future.
We must, therefore, harness our collective skills and knowledge to build a better future for the deaf people by creating our own businesses and solutions.
The need to act now is crucial because barriers to establishing and sustaining successful small businesses by deaf entrepreneurs are complex and interrelated – defying simple solutions. However, nothing is impossible when we collaborate to identify pragmatic solutions to both present and emerging challenges facing our businesses.
No matter what you eat, where you sit, or what you do, this premier business event is a call to action to participate, to inspire hope, and to bring prosperity to more deaf people. In addition to networking opportunities, this event will give us the tools we need to deal effectively with difficult and uncertain times. These potential benefits clearly make the event an agenda for everyone: take charge and lead us to a better future!
We look forward to seeing you in Houston, TX!

The BCED Chairman
