PRESS REGISTRATION
To register as a member of the press, please review the press pass guidelines. If you have any questions related to press/media, please fill out our electronic contact form with a subject «Press/Media» at Contact Org. Committee section.
All press representatives must be registered prior to Business Convention and Expo of the Deaf and will not be admitted to any event without a badge. Submitting this form does not guarantee that you will receive a press badge.
Business Convention and Expo of the Deaf reserves the right to issue press badges at our own discretion. Proof of press credentials may be required before BCED Org. Committee will grant you a press badge.
The Press badge does not have privilegies including meals, reception, recreation and entertainment program, and others.
2010 BUSINESS CONVENTION AND EXPO OF THE DEAF PRESS REGISTRATION GUIDELINES
Thank you for your interest in covering the 2010 1st Business Convention and Expo of the Deaf. The BCED offers daily press badges to professional journalists to gather news and information to produce editorial coverage of the event.
GUIDELINES
• All press must be registered prior to the BCED and will not be admitted without a badge.
• The press badge will allow you access to all conference events and to sessions that do not require extra fees. Please let us know in advance if you would like to cover a specific extra-fee event or session.
• To qualify for a press badge, you must be affiliated with a nationally or regionally recognized media outlet. Only editorial staff members are eligible for press registration.
• Proof of press credentials are required before BCED will grant you a press badge.
• Advance registration is required, as a limited number of press badges will be distributed. Only one representative will be allowed to receive a press badge per media outlet, unless otherwise approved.
• BCED reserves the right to decline press badges requests from media affiliated with convention exhibitors, sponsors and organizations that provide products and services to the BCED attendees.
REGISTRATION
• To register as a media representative for the Business Convention and Expo of the Deaf, please complete and send it to BCED Community Liason Chair along with the following credentials:
Trade and business publications: Reporters from industry trade publications and business media must provide a business card with an editorial title, a current masthead that includes their name and a sample of a bylined article published within the past six months.
Freelance writers: Freelancers must provide a letter of assignment from the editor of the publication you intend to cover the conference for. We also require a bylined article published within the past six months.
Online publications and news services: Reporters from online publications must provide a business card with an editorial title along with an online link to a bylined article on the publication’s web site. If the web site link is no longer available, you may also choose to print the article and send it to us.
Bloggers: Bloggers are subject to the same press registration process as all other media and registration will be judged based the credibility of the blog. Information such as the focus and longevity of the blog, frequency of updates, ratings, and number of page views will be taken into consideration for the press pass.
Once your registration has been processed you will receive a confirmation via e-mail along with information on sessions, speakers and interview opportunities for your article.
AT THE CONVENTION AND EXPO
• Approved press badges may be picked up at a registration desk. The BCED representative will be available to assist you and provide you with additional details, if needed.
• Recording the conference either by audio or videotape is not permitted without prior written consent from the BCED.
• Please note that we do not allow flash cameras during the sessions and special events. If you need photos of specific sessions or speakers, please inform the BCED PR staff at the time of registration. We will be happy to assist you with support materials for your article.
• If you would like to request an interview with any BCED staff, org. Committee member, or speaker, or need suggestions on who might be most knowledgeable on the topic you’re covering, please make a request at the time of registration or onsite to PR staff at the registration desk.
We ask that you reference BCED in any articles written about or relating to the conference, and that you notify us of any articles you publish related to the event.
